This Bill seeks to provide adequate funding for the study; prevention; water remediation; and compensation of victims of flooding and other matters incidental thereto. The Bill seeks to ensure that the flooding throughout the length and breadth of Nigeria is carried out in line with best practices globally to ensure effectiveness and reduction of the pain of victims of flooding to the barest minimum. The Bill is in consonance and tandem with NEMA Act and all other laws governing flooding and envisages that all duplications and misuse of resources shall be avoided.
