dc.description.abstract | This Bill seeks to amend the National Emergency Management Agency
(Establishment, Etc.) Act to make the Agency more efficient during cases of
flood as the Agency will have a pool of resources to draw from. It will also
halt the huge and mostly uncoordinated extra budgetary amounts doled out
to supposed victims without any certainty that such monies will go to the
right victims and shared on the basis of verifiable loses. It will also create
conditions that mitigate the effects of flooding by ensuring that property
owners are required to comply with building ordinances for flood hazard
areas as well to offer a financial protection against flood loses. | en_US |
