This Bill seeks to amend Agricultural Research Council of Nigeria Act and to provide for the establishment/ upgrading of Federal Livestock Farm, Swine Multiplication Centre, Okpuje-Nsukka to Swine Research Institute, Okpuje- Nsuuka, Enugu State, so as provide for the conduct of basic and applied research of national and strategic importance for sustainable development of swine in Nigeria, act as repository of information on swine resources with a systematic database; direct the processes of species and systems expansion of swine in Nigeria animal husbandry; provide platform for human resource development, capacity building and skill development through training, education and extension; and conduct of research into swine quality management, pollution control and swine resources economics and marketing.
