| dc.description.abstract | This Bill seeks to amend the Legal Aid Act 2011 in line with international
standards and to provide for the establishment of Legal Aid access to justice
funds on behalf of indigent citizens to prosecute their claims in accordance
with the Constitution and to further empower the existing Legal Aid Council of
Nigeria to be responsible for the operation of a scheme for the grant of Legal
Aid and access to justice in matters of proceedings to persons with inadequate
