This Bill seeks to amend the West African Examinations Council Act to bring Nigeria's participation in the Council's activities into conformity with internationally recognised examination standards such as the GCE A-Level and Cambridge International Examinations; strengthen integrity safeguards; ensure transparent and auditable processes; and prohibit examination leakage with stiff penalties. It also establishes a framework for mutual recognition of WAEC qualifications with equivalent foreign qualifications
