| dc.description.abstract | This Bill seeks to establish the National Institute of Journalism and Media
Studies as a federal institution dedicated to the training, research, certification,
and professional development of journalists and media practitioners in
Nigeria. The Institute will serve as a national hub for journalism and media
excellence, offering full-time and part-time academic programmes, fostering
ethical media practices, and enhancing the quality of public communication.
The Bill provides for a streamlined governance structure, lean administrative
framework, and operational autonomy under the supervision of the Federal
