A Bill for an Act to Establish the National Shea Butter Research Institute, Saki, Oyo State, and for Related Matters, 2025

Abstract

This Bill seeks to establish the National Shea Butter Research Institute, Saki, Oyo State, as a center of excellence for research, innovation, and capacity building in Shea butter. The Institute will promote sustainable Shea cultivation, improve product quality and global competitiveness, provide training and extension services, foster collaboration with research and development partners, and contribute to job creation, women's empowerment, rural development, and foreign exchange earnings. Its passage will ensure that Nigeria fully harnesses the economic and agricultural potential of Shea butter for national development.
