Abstract

This Bill seeks to alter the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (As Altered) to provide for listing of the National Assembly Service Commission and the State House of Assembly Service Commission as an Independent Bodies under Sections 158 and 197 respectively, to enhance their independence, and to clearly designate the Clerk of the National Assembly and the Clerks of the State Houses of Assembly as the Heads of Legislative Service at the national and subnational levels respectively.
