This Brief has brought to the fore the need for the government, both federal and state, to adequately cater for and appreciate security personnel in the country. This Brief suggests that: The three Bills (viz. 2020/HB.1047, 2021/ HB 1242 & 2021/HB.1222) on the floor of the House of Representatives on the issue of the welfare and protection of personnel of security agencies in Nigeria should be harmonized by both the Senate and the House of Representatives into one Bill/legislation. The harmonized Bill should be enacted to establish a full-fledged agency to oversee the welfare and protection of personal data and information of security personnel in the country; The proposed Bill may be titled, A Bill for an Act to Establish the National Security Agencies Welfare and Personal Data Protection Agency and for other related matters.en_US
