Housing deficit in Nigeria is currently estimated at about 17 million units. The Federal Government Staff Housing Board (FGSHB) is inefficient and unable to bridge the housing gap for federal civil servants The FGSHB Act should be repealed and replaced with a private sector-led initiative The various government housing programmes should be streamlined to enhance coordination, planning and efficient resource mobilisation and utilisation.
